Installation Scheduling Policy – Modern Fence Company, Inc
NOTE: this applies only to larger installations; smaller installs typically move sooner.
We will proceed with outdoor installations until the first significant snowfall (or stretch
of sub-freezing temperatures), then not again until next Spring (indoor installations are
excluded from weather restrictions). As such, we may have already booked our last full,
outdoor install of this season - but maybe not. New contract work will be taken only with
the stipulation that installation will move forward AS WEATHER DICTATES, perhaps this
season, perhaps Spring, 2018. (Smaller installs and repairs are not included in this.)

Perhaps the most relevant message we can convey to a potential client
is, please, do not wait until the last minute to proceed with your planned
As a highly regarded fence company, our schedule does become
crowded. During high season, adhering to our standard operating
procedure (outlined below), a full installation can take several weeks,
even months, from estimate to completion. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD - you
can expect normal, course of business delays that are beyond control.
Don't set yourself up for regrets; settling for "second best" to shave a
couple weeks off an install date can be a costly mistake that you'll be
forced to live with.

To better understand how your installation will be scheduled:
Your fence installation starts with your contract authorization, signature and deposit.
Once received, the following obligations, as applicable, must be met, in this order,
before your installation will be placed into our active schedule:
1.) Any required Building Permit must be paid and issued. (Lead time for Permit issue
varies by location, please consult your local building department);
2.) If necessary and only after Permit issue: Orders for “special-order” material will be
placed; all “special-order” material must then be received, delivered to our yard.
(Lead time for “special-order” material varies, please consult your estimator).
Once these terms are met, your installation will move to our active schedule. It will then
be expedited in the order that it was received into this active schedule. KNOW THAT NO
ONE WILL BE PLACED IN FRONT OF YOU; LIKEWISE, WE WILL NOT MAKE ANOTHER
CLIENT WAIT IN ORDER TO "BUMP" YOU UP IN OUR SYSTEM - PLEASE DO NOT ASK.
We have found this to be the fairest, most equitable model of operation, most clients
agree, we cannot and will not deviate from this.

WARNING! Find a professional that says they will install sooner? Get it in writing!
Please keep in mind that all outdoor installations are weather dependent. Each full or partial day of inclement
weather will push our entire schedule back an equal amount. We appreciate your understanding.
